Engraving

Engraving is one of humanity's oldest art forms, evolving from ancient Greek armor to Renaissance intaglio plates. It has always required precision, patience, and absolute control. At Ateljé Vagabond, we honor this tradition through our handcrafted metal engraving services in Sweden.

Working primarily on high-grade aluminum, steel, brass, carbon, and titanium, every line—often only a fraction of a millimeter deep—shapes how light reflects off the metal and how the final composition feels to the touch. Whether it's architectural signage, bespoke interior decor, or personalized luxury gifts, each piece is fully handcrafted in our Swedish studio, blending traditional methods with modern Nordic design.

Electro-Etching

Electro-etching is a modern metal art technique that harnesses electricity and electrolytes to create deep textures, smooth gradients, and organic patterns across aluminum, steel, brass, carbon, and titanium. Unlike toxic acid etching, our process is safer and allows for intricate detail.

This technique complements our engraving work perfectly. While engraving produces sharp, precise lines, electro-etching allows for bold contrasts and expressive depth. This hybrid approach is a modern interpretation of ancient craftsmanship, created entirely by hand. It is ideal for larger statement pieces where texture and shadow play a central role.
