About the Studio

A Landskrona studio at the frontier of Cloud FinOps, data engineering, and Edge AI — where 20 years of distributed-systems discipline meets the precision of ancient metalcraft.

Ateljé Vagabond operates from Landskrona, Sweden.

Ateljé Vagabond was founded on over two decades of engineering experience spanning distributed systems, embedded AI, and cloud infrastructure — work documented in published technical literature and active research conducted at the Master's level in Edge AI and Robotics. What began as a curiosity-driven exploration of metalcraft has grown into a studio where software discipline and physical craftsmanship are inseparable. Digital design, chemistry, AI tools, and traditional hand techniques meet here by intention: the problems we find most compelling — autonomous systems, intelligent sensors, field-deployable hardware — live at exactly this boundary.

Not Your Typical Studio

You might find STM32 development boards next to antique gravers, and FinOps dashboards open on the same workbench as titanium stock. We write firmware, architect cloud data pipelines, and hand-finish metal — because the clients who need us most are those whose systems exist at exactly the boundary between software intelligence and the physical world.

Our Manifesto: "STANCE"

Sustainability

What we build must matter and respect the world it enters. We evaluate impact, energy efficiency, repairability, and longevity.

Thoughtfulness

We do not create because we can. We build with intention, restraint, and clarity of purpose.

Augmentation

AI and modern tools expand our capacity to think, learn, and create. Technology is a multiplier, not a replacement for human judgment.

Necessity

A product must serve a real need, without excess or spectacle. Resource use must always be justified.

Craft

Quality is the baseline. Security, durability, engineering clarity, and honest workmanship guide everything we build.

Ethics

We share openly when it benefits the community, and we protect what must remain private. Responsibility defines our boundaries.
